A Story of Transformation

Incarcerated for three years in one of Florida’s toughest women’s prisons, I faced a reality that was both daunting and life-changing. The moment I stepped into prison, I chose to see this challenge as an opportunity.

I quickly became a leader, facilitating the Orientation Dorm, guiding inmates through Chapter 33 - Dept. of Corrections rules, and eventually teaching a self-created transition course. These roles not only transformed my experience but planted the seed for what would become the Prison101ED program courses, empowering inmates to embrace healing, growth, and reinvention.

Prison wasn’t just a place of confinement—it became a space for healing and transformation. I discovered a deep purpose behind my incarceration and realized that, with the right tools, anyone can turn their story into strength.

Advocacy and Empowerment

Upon release, my mission was clear: to advocate for those still incarcerated and equip them with the knowledge to succeed. Through books like "Prison 101 Inmate Handbook," "Broken Open," and "Within Lies All The Answers," I promised to never forget my fellow inmates. These works inspire others to believe in themselves, seek answers within, and transform their challenges into victories.
